Jason’s Biography
Jason Patrick Owens is a promising American jazz saxophonist and composer currently residing in the vibrant city of Barcelona, Spain. Hailing from the city of Reno, Nevada, Jason's musical journey began in at age 11, and his passion for jazz led him to pursue a B.A. in jazz and improvisational music at the University of Nevada Reno.
During his time at UNR, Jason had the privilege of studying privately under the mentorship of esteemed musicians such as Peter Epstein, Ralph Alessi. Under their guidance, Jason honed his skills, broadened his musical horizons, and developed a distinctive sound that sets him apart in the world of jazz.
Jason has performed with musicians such as Adam Benjamin (Kneebody), Josh D. Reed, Hans Halt, Ken Ychicawa, and Andrew Baker. He is also a performer and composer for the bands Surplus and All In All Down.
